Music History

BJ Cunningham is a songwriter instrumental guitarist and tutor based in Ayrshire, Scotland.  His guitar playing style covers: acoustic, rock, folk, pop, blues, traditional and country styles of music. His musical career really started in the mid 80's when he formed the band Frontier.  In the early 90's alongside vocalist John Harley Weston and bassist Bud Greenwood Brian was signed to the Mercury record label "Vertigo".

During this time Brian and his band worked with many great producers, engineers and musicians the list includes:

George Martin's - Air Studio, London.
Peter Gabriel's Realworld Studios, Bath.
Parklane Studio's Glasgow.

Frontier released 2 singles - The Sun is Gonna Shine and Lonely Heart.

Tours included:

Gun - Support tour 1992.
Venues included The Astoria, London.

Wet Wet Wet - Support Tour 1992.
Venues included: Wembley Arena, Birmingham NEC, Sheffield Arena and Manchester GMex.

After Frontier Brian moved to London where he formed the BJ Cunningham Band. He also worked as a audio engineer for various music company's including Zomba Records and did a lot of pre/post production work on many great recordings.

Now as a solo artist Brian is currently composing and recording guitar music at his home studio in Scotland. Brian is also a qualified audio engineer having gained a diploma from SAE in 1994. He has a film credit on the tribute concert to George Harrison "Concert For George".

Combining over forty years of guitar playing & technical experience Brian has put together a collection of new music, videos & local guitar lessons.
